Shoes (Theme 170)

Shoes is the theme and how about this one. Water pipe in the attic at my mother house burst and soaked everything in the closet. What a mess and it has been a chore to clean up. The pipe was well insulated but the vent to the outside must have let in too much cold air and well..........you get the idea. These are 3 of the shoes that we poured water out of.

Oh, I'm sorry your mother had that happen! These shoes tell a story that you won't forget.

You are so right. I'm hoping that most of it can be saved if we got them in time. Water tends to shrink shoes. It's a wait and see game.

You need to tweak your template. I'm actually just setting up a new Blog specially for my 366 now (will let everyone know the new link).

Go to Layout then Edit html - see if you can see a section called something like Main body or Main wrapper, and underneath it, "width=400px" or whatever the size is. Play around with increasing the size - just always hit PREVIEW, because then if it goes wrong, you can just hit CLEAR EDITS, and nothing's lost. Might also be worth making a back up of your template (just go into Layout, Edit html, then copy and paste the entire text into a Word doc!)

If I finish trying to add a third column to my new Blog (a bit beyond me), then I'll play around more to help you :-)

Do you have Gmail chat or something? I'm dogearedandfurry (Gmail.com)

Might be easier to do that way - I just managed to add a third column to my new Blog (one on the left, already had one on the right), but still got lots of empty space either side of them... but that's something to figure out another day!

New photo Blog for 366 and 12 of 12!

(could you change the links you have for me - in your side panel and credit links? Thanks! This Blog I can now show to my work colleagues without them reading more private posts and rants!)

Oh and I'll sort out a template guide tomorrow night - Internet Explorer on my work PC doesn't like letting me post or change my template in Blogger for some reason - always shows an error on the page.

Helen, I did what you said and played around with it. I did manage to make it larger. Changing code is something I have never done. My blog does need some tweeking but I like it better with using more space.

Helen, just saw your blog and I love the extra side piece. What settings do you have it on. I want to have the theme list like yours. oh, I'm also going to check into the gmail chat thing. Will let you know.

I Googled for something like "add a third column to my Blog". If you see one with "lawnydesigns" in the URL, that's the one I used.

However, once you finish the tutorial and you preview your new Blog (before saving the changes), the third panel won't show up, because you won't yet have anything in it. So make sure you save a copy of your template before you start, then save a copy of your 'new' template. Then hit save in Blogger, and populate the new sidebar with one of the elements (like the list - I went for a text list, and copied and pasted the bulleted list from my post, which also transferred the numbers). That should then show the new column in your Blog. I just then played around with the widths of the columns (more by trial and error!)
